Avant Garde and Kitsch - Clement Greenberg
I read an article about Avant Garde and Kitsch, I didn't understand the article and language they used in the article. But some sentences I could understand what they were talking about though. I'd understand they were talking about Greenberg who breakthrough essay from 1939, written for the Partisan Review when he was twenty-nine years of age and at the time more involved with literature than with painting. Then they were talk about the different between the society, rich and money they had. Also Avant Garde was under controlled of Kitsch and also some of their members who were under control of Kitsch tried to do what Kitsch asked by changing Avant Garde's work.
