I read this article and it's all about interviewing Charlotte Cotton who didn't want to be a photographer but wanted to work something related to photography. Then she went on to assistant curator of photographs, then curator of photographs at the V&A and worked there for twelve year.

Then Charlotte Cotton talks about democracy and independent practice is a photographer creates when no one paying for it or analyzing it but will be creates anyway. Also she say currently the centre of attention of photographic practice is contemporary art. Then she talks about when someone's development to be an artist their sense are beyond debate, but once they are secure about their own voice, talking on advertising work means something completely different from they started. Then she mention about she thought it was like an experimenting when you started doing your career then you will learn more from your experience, it called commercial work or assignment work. Then at the end of an interview she mention about the main point of photography is a methodology set of motivations and histories and this in and of itself supplies photography's infinitely rich terrain.
